Richard Gonzalez — Class of 1958

Richard Gonzalez (1939-2021) died on about October 14, 2021. He was the son of Al and Maria Gonzalaz and brother of Al Jr. (1936-1991) (class of 1955), Gilbert (class of 1956), Albert (class of 1960), Michael (class of 1963), Charles (class of 1964), Mavi (class of 1966) and perhaps other siblings that I never knew.

I remember Richard from algebra class, my envy of his photography skills and his marriage to one of the cutest girls in the class of 1961. Richard was the yearbook photographer when he was in high school and continued to perform that function as a paid professional photographer after he graduated. Hid father Al, was a photographer for AP&CC. Both Richard’s parents passed away in 2009.

I would like to express my deepest sympathies to his family.

As I learn more I will update this post.

He will be greatly missed. His sister Mavi was in my class (1966). His photography fills the THS annuals…especially in the form of senior pictures. His ongoing communication has been a gift to many …I always appreciated his comments and support. My condolences to the family. Just know he was a good man and one day we can all rejoice in heaven.

I have been attempting to contact Richard for almost a month to advise him that his classmates the THS class of 1958 is planning a get-together at homecoming on weekend, of Oct 29 and 30th. During the course of locating those classmates, three have passed away; Nancy Dunn, Pete Teel and Now Richard Gonzales. I thought I had Located Richard in Okla but could get no response. Now, I realize why. RIP Richard. You will miss the reunion and we will miss you. I trust He has prepared a place for you in His Father’s house and we will visit you there.
