Michael Phillips passed away on June 14, 2023 at home. He graduated from THS in 1965 and later taught English at Burroughs High.
Saddened to hear about Michael’s passing. We reconnected last year via songs I had written/recorded such as “Trona Requiem” and “Circus Mountain” containing many examples what it was like to grow-up in Trona. We exchanged several poems that he had written with the songs I had composed. His poems showed great depth of insight about life in Trona. I was looking forward to connecting with him at a future reunion. Now that is not possible. RIP, brother.
