I swam there with my boy scout troop, probably around 1982 or 83. Our troop was from Santa Barbara, CA and we were returning from a trip to Death Valley. I remember the pool clearly.
I lived in Argus, Ca and my dad used to load his trailer with a bunch of us kids and we would spend the summer (three 2-week periods) learning how to swim and also Red Cross life saving techniques. It was great fun, that was in 1947/1948.
I remember in the 1970s….having gone to this pool multiple times in the summer,,,,I remember..the salt water taiste…I think I may have been in my teens…I remember the sides of the pool bein at a slant…..had soooo much fun. Does anyone remeber the taffee they would sell at the snack bar??? Orange,grape and lemon….1 1/2 inch wide….prob about a foot long…..the best. It was a great place to make new friends….and play catch up with old friends…Im now 53 years old…this pool never made me sick…..nothing but the best of times. I miss the trona pool….and being young again 🙂

I lived at Valley Wells from I think 1969-1971. Dick and Arleen Lape were foster parents to my brother and me. They had two daughters Tammy and Kelly
