CommentsSeeking info on life, possible family of a Richard AKA Dick Wiese who lived in Trona (First road past Reeds Casino, Box 230) from 1964 until his death in 1984. He was my grandfathers brother, they were tragically separated as boys and Richard never knew he had a family that loved him and was searching for him -- any help greatly appreciated!
CommentsI have bad and good memories but life goes on. The last time I was in Trona was 2000,to see my sister Donna and my best friends, racing friends. Yes the Smiths and Tomkins. I love racing but it's only dirt nothing like nascar. My husband got me into it and it's a rush. We go to California Speedway every year, that's even the best rush. Anyway I'm living in Northern Calif. I love it up here and a lot of more dirt tracks also. Oh yes I now have two beautiful grandson, Eric and Daniel. Which live in Arizona. Well for Trona, all I got to say is would the last person to leave please turn off the lights. Take Care.

CommentsI realy had a great life there. I miss all the great people that I grew up with. I miss pouring coffee for all the old timers that came in to my moms resturant in Argus, D&C then Dotties. And delivering furnitur for my dad from the Baker Brother, I miss the pool and the fourth of July fir works. Playing ditchem with the Carlose Estrada, Larry Walker and the Doyel Brothres. Mr Martin the gym teacher and his coaching and druma class. I haven't been to a get together in a long while and I am planning on it next year. I had a great life in Trona and wish I could find a place like that again to live in. Oklahoma is hot but not like Trona. Well I hope to visit Trona soon.. Thanks

CommentsI am retired and doing some reminising of places I worked in the past. I was an electrician and I worked here on the new construction at the Kerr-McGee plant in 1977, and again in 1978. I belonged to the gem and mineral group. We stayed in temporary quarters just west of town. This website is bringing back many memories, especially the pinnacles. Hiked out there many times. I'm living back in NJ where I was raised as a child. Keep up the good work with this site. I will be checking back in the future.

CommentsMy husband Bob worked there from 1962 to '88. Because of his ailment we were driving 600 miles a week to Lancaster for his treatments, we moved back to Kansas in 1992 which made it easier for him.I lost him in '98. We missed all of Trona so much.

CommentsI'm an actress, preparing a charcter of a woman who is living and working in Trona. As I shall do major part of my research in the heat of Trona and in the rhythm of the mine, I would like to stay and live for a period in this amazing town. For this purpose, I'm looking for a room to rent for approxiamtely 6-8 weeks (middle September to beginning November 2005.) I'm from Germany, 39 years old, living in Italy. I would be glad to receive a response from you people of Trona, and it would be wonderful to spend some time again in the desert town ( I've been already twice to Trona.)
CommentsI used to live with my grandparents from time to time, Paul and Elizabeth Wright. Paul Wright, my grandfather used to be the local doctor at the hospital back in the 60s. We lived in Argus at the top of A street. The built on to the house and we had a pool in our front yard. I used to have some cool parties. I attended Trona elementary school in 2,3, and 5 grades. I used to be with the girl scouts, too. My uncle Lawrance Wright used to play with a band at some of the dances at Valley Wells pool. Some of my friends were Jeanette Swan, Linda Cutler, Leah Neimeyer. They used to come over and go swimming in our pool. Frank D'Amico was my first boyfriend in grammer school. His dad used to come to my grandparent's house and help with the construction of the add-on. I think his name was Jim D'Amico. In 1964-65, Mr. Van Dyke of Van Dyke motors showed me, my grandmother and mom the first mustang that he got. I remember he had it housed in a large shed-like garage. It seemed to me to be really top-secret at the time. I could go on and on, but I would really like to get responses from anyone who knew me back then. It would be really cool to hear from you.
